7 Spring Cleaning Tips to Help Organize Your Life

Spring is upon us and warmer weather is around the corner. With blossoms blooming and birds singing, it’s important to not forget one of the more menial tasks of Spring: spring cleaning!

Follow our simple spring cleaning tips to get organized and back to enjoying the warmer weather:

  • Have A Plan. Create an end goal that you want to accomplish and recognize when “you’re done” spring cleaning. Start with broad topics (clean kitchen, clean closet, recycle electronics, etc.). For each of these broad topics, break them down into smaller, more manageable tasks.
  • Involve Your Family. Make cleaning a game and get the whole family to join along! Break jobs down into small, easily completed tasks that kids will find fun. Also, use positive reinforcement such as a day at the park or ice cream to reward them for a job well done.
  • Tackle One Task At A Time. Although we all think we can multitask effectively, realize that distractions can delay you to your end goal. If you find dishes while cleaning the living room, take them to the kitchen to tackle next.
  • Organize The Closets. There are many places that become “out of sight, out of mind” in your home from your linen closet, wardrobe closet, to the pantry. Organize your closet so items are more easily accessible and can be used more often.
  • Donate Unwanted Items. As you’re spring cleaning, it’s important to set aside items that can be donated or sold at a garage sale. Keep a box readily available in every room you’re cleaning for items that are in good condition that someone else might enjoy.
  • Recycle Your Electronics. Spring cleaning is also a perfect time to assess what electronics you have in the house. If you’re going to upgrade your smartphone or iPad, why not recycle your electronics and get some money while doing it. NextWorth provides competitive prices for your used electronics from smartphones and iPads to calculators and cameras.
  • Enjoy The Weather! Don’t forget to celebrate a job well done. Enjoy your freshly cleaned home by throwing a block party or hosting a BBQ. Get your whole family together and play yard games while enjoying the warmer weather.

Find it difficult to get everything done during spring cleaning? NextWorth makes it easier allowing you to trade in-store! While you’re out donating you unwanted items or running to the store to buy more cleaning supplies, stop by one of our participating retailers and trade-in your electronics.
